ACT Test Data for Improved Learning
ACT test data is both simple and involved. This session will focus on your ACT data with a focus to improve student learning, identify areas of strengths and opportunities, and help you move forward as a staff in the school and classroom-level work you do to help your students be successful on the ACT. Workshop activities make this a learning and collaborative work session and attendees should be prepared to work with others and share their best practices, as well as focus on what your data is saying.

ACT WorkKeys in the K12 Setting – Data to Improve Learning
Designed with the K12 educator in mind, this workshop session blends the review and analysis of your ACT WorkKeys data by individual student, instructor, and school level. When ACT WorkKeys assessments are completed and scores are returned to students and schools, many will not readily grasp the value of the data they have. Understanding what data is available and what the data is telling us is critical to using the data to make informed decisions. Workshop participant participation will make this session of value to all who attend.

The PreACT – Data to Inform and Prepare
Using PreACT results from school or district level testing, discover and gain insight into the value of the data. This workshop will provide a quick view into the district, school, and content area data produced by your participation in the PreACT. Identify areas of strengths and opportunities and move forward in the work that you do to address your students’ needs related to their success on the ACT. Activities in this session will focus on immediate use of the data and the direct connection of the PreACT to the ACT, including the process of writing SMART goals for the ACT that are truly “measurable.”

History, Government, and Social Studies Classroom Based State Assessment
This session will take test administrators, curriculum coordinators, and teachers (grades 3-12) through the HGSS Classroom Based Assessment Best Practices. Some of the topics addressed will be classroom assessment standards, selecting themes, creating tasks, and summative assessment scoring. This interactive session will provide information about the assessment, discussion about how districts might best administer the assessment, and time to create state assessment inquiry units and tasks. Resources will include HGSS Assessment Guides, Performance Level Expectation sheets and the State Assessment Graduated Task Rubrics.
