In 2016 Newton High School hosted its first Building Bridges event. The intent of this event was to work with the local WorkForce Development, Economic Development and Chamber of Commerce and invite business and industry leaders to discuss issues surrounding CTE. The idea was to reach beyond the local advisory board and include all areas of career fields and job titles. Building Bridges has improved the IPS process by adding partners that host students in professional learning experiences as they explore career options. Attendees will learn how this event has grown and changed over the last 4 years and how to implement this event in their school.
